It's my birthday today, and last saturday I had friends over to celebrate it. Last year I made these cakes: [link]
I really liked last years cakes, but I felt I had to beat them this year.
The big one with the roses has chocolate mousse and apricot&ear jam inside it, it's covered with chocolate sugarpaste and has roses made out of modeling chocolate (wich was wonderful to work with and incredibly tasty). It's all decorated with edible gold paint.
The small one is once again for my allergic friend, so it contains neither flour nor milk. At least not the regular kinds. There's raspberry jam inside it, whipped soy cream on top and flowers and roses made of the same things as the big chocolate one.
The last one is what I came up with when I realized I didn't have enough sugarpaste to cover two cakes with. Yeah, I know, it's incredibly nerdy, but it was appreciated. It has chocolate mousse and raspberry jam inside and whipped cream made purple with food colouring on top. And the horde symbol is made out of marzipan.
